UPCOMING CONVOY
DATE: Saturday 19th September 2026
LOCATION: Grand-Synth region, Northern France
AIM: To deliver crucial supplies to the MRS teams + x1 field visit to assess the latest status of refugee 'camps'.
NUMBER OF VEHICLES: TBC
GOODS NEEDED:Tents; sleeping bags; tarpaulin; sun cream and sunglasses (for protection from the sun); raincoats/umbrellas (for rain downpours), foods, underwear, mobile phone cables. See FULL GOODS LIST HERE.
GROUND UPDATE:
- Europe-wide heat waves have made having to live/sleep in tents and on exposed disused railway tracks unbearable. Many children and adults are fatigued by the heat with limited water supplies to assist them, and are facing skin and eye issues from over-exposure to the sun.
-Ongoing weekly police raids and 'clearances now also includes the French police building walls overnight to stop refugees from returning to their previous sites to reclaim their possessions.
- The UK's blocking of legal routes to safety and family reunification rights (even for children) - means people feel forced to risk crossing the Channel to reach their loved ones and in order to escape police harassment and brutalities.
-Drop in donations and volunteer availability also means goods and funds – and volunteers – are needed as ever.
