TEAM UPDATES
Our CEO, wonderful team of Trustees, and volunteers each do what they can in between full-time careers and family responsibilities to keep our works both here in the UK and in France, going.
From sorting out and collecting donations in person, to lobbying efforts, school visits and delivering convoys, this new page is dedicated to recording just some of our latest actions and milestones.
Actions we hope you will join with us on, and help elevate, in your own individual and brilliant way.
2ND & 3RD OCTOBer 2026:
CONVOY COMPLETED
UPDATE
Bumping into a group of Far Right men from the UK, harassing refugees under the (false) guise of 'making a documentary' was not quite the way we planned on starting this convoy, but that is exactly what happened...
This is our first account of witnessing what racist groups of White men travelling in via the Eurotunnel do upon landing in France. With no-one to stop them. Taunting refugees in the hopes of garnering violent reactions on their phones was shocking and jarring, especially when we know those they are trying to provoke are already exhausted and traumatised from their journeys to seek safety already.
Onjali's reaction to this encounter can be watched in the above video and highlights what those with racist tendencies cannot grasp: that no human should be forced to bear the terror of crossing an open ocean armed with nothing but a life jacket, let alone be taunted and abused for having the strength of mind and body to try and even attempt it when so fatigued and often injured.
During this two-day convoy, the main aim of assisting the epic Mobile Refugee Support team with supplies of what tents, sleeping bags, joggers, toothpastes etc that we could was completed. Underwear, battery packs for mobile phones and fresh fruits were also bought and supplied.
Highlight was the joy of our refugee children playing with stickers and sweets bought with your kind donations, and seeing the relief on the faces of many a refugee family being aided by the MRS team, when securing a precious tent or sleeping bag.
STAR UPDATE:
Our washing machines were unwrapped and put into place, ready to be fitted by Jed's father! Nearly there!

UPDATE
After some unwanted delays due to Far Right threats and 'protests', we finally managed to get back out to the s/heroes at Mobile Refugee Support with new tents, sleeping bags, as well as the newly requested backpacks for refugees to be able to carry foods and goods more easily.
Most of this convoy was spent shopping for / using funds to supply emergency tinned foods for family food packs (i.e. tinned fish, beans and vegetables distribute with rice packs, oil and herbs so that families can make their own foods where possible. Hot meals are still hard to access for many refugee families, especially those with small children who cannot travel out to distribution zones due to rough terrain or the weather).
Underwear, battery packs for mobile phones and fresh fruits were also bought and supplied.
STAR UPDATE:
Our gifted washing machines will be fitted soon to help expand the MRS team's brilliant Washed Clothes project, which ensure refugees can keep hold of the clothes precious to them, and reduce clothes waste in the camps. More on our precious machines soon!

ROUND 2 - UK DONATION SORTING & MOVING!
UPDATE
After our first stab a few weeks ago (and armed with the knowledge that rats were going to have to be fought with!), we headed back into our storage unit to see what donations could be salvaged. Thankfully, most donations barring our baby wipes and clothes we wouldn't be able to use in the camps anyway, were safe! The rat infestation risk was so high however, that we made the executive decision to move into a new indoor unit instead! So what turned into the second part of a sorting and cleaning job, turned into a much needed moving mission. We are now happy to report the move is COMPLETE and all future donations will be kept safe from the critters (fingers crossed)!
STAR UPDATE:
Charlie, the co-founder of Mobile Refugee Support and our UK unit manager was able to join us for this move (and rats' corpse disposing!) and gave us a head's up that we need backpacks for our refugees (a new ask). So children, parents, trekkers... If you have any rucksacks still in good/excellent condition, please do send them our way HERE.

UPDATE
Storage sorters unite! After months of being too busy to tackle the UK storage unit, we finally took a deep breath and headed on in! Only to find that the unit had been broken into by...rats! (Cue: all of us trying not to scream!) Sadly, the critters had attacked many a box and bag and used our precious stock of baby wipes to forge a GIANT nest. In the space of a few hours, we managed to sort through, re-box in sturdier storage boxes (thanks to Susan's speedy B&M shop), and catalogue half of the goods. A second day - and a stronger stomach for dealing with 'the corner with the nest in it' would be needed...
STAR UPDATE:
We have enough women's pre-packed toiletry/sanitary packs (thank you to the women of Yorkshire!) to last us through to Christmas.
